Cogitaas is derived from Latin ‘Cogito ergo sum’, meaning – ‘I think, therefore I am’. At Cogitaas, we provide customised solutions for business problems arising from marketing, finance and sales. These solutions directly address issues faced by senior management whether in terms of strategic initiatives or intelligent systems for business processes. We begin with a business ‘issue’ and end with a business ‘benefit’. We stay the course – are committed to supporting our solutions until the business issue is solved. We use statistics, mathematics, marketing science, economics & econometrics to support optimal decision making. We identify ‘optima’ in decision science.
Our proposition is innovation – building and implementing innovative proprietary solutions for marketing and other functions. We create innovative solutions and then engage in operating plans, process deployment, intelligent systems and machine learning. We currently have, over 10 innovative and proprietary tools for various industries, and the number is growing. All have been tried, tested and yielded successful results.

Dr. KAMAL SEN
Founder & President Dr. Sen has had 23 years of professional experience combining academics with corporate work at the highest levels. Prior to starting Cogitaas, Dr. Sen headed Business Analytics and Strategy Planning at Unilever for Asia, Africa, Australia and Central & Eastern Europe, where he was responsible for their branding and strategic initiatives across 100 brands in 15 countries. He won 3 awards for his contributions to Unilever, including the prestigious Finance Director’s Award and the Award for Innovative Business Partnering. Dr. Sen has worked with leading financial institutions like the State Bank of India, etc. where he achieved the distinction of becoming a Rated Economist. Dr. Sen has also appeared as an expert on CNN, BBC, Financial Express, Economic Times etc. and was appointed Independent Director on the board of SBI Mutual Funds, one of India’s largest mutual funds. Dr. Sen did his PhD. in Econometrics and Statistics from North Carolina State University (USA), where he taught MBA students and received an award for Outstanding Teaching.

Founder, President & CEO Venu leads innovation, client satisfaction and solution development initiatives at Cogitaas. He has international publications across marketing, quantitative methods as well as nanotechnology. Before starting Cogitaas, he worked in the Business Analytics and Strategy Planning function at Unilever, where he led analytics-based decision making for over 30 brands across 7 countries in Asia and Africa. He was awarded the Unilever Global IBP award for driving use of analytics for strategic decisions. Venu is an engineer with an MS in Mech Engg from Purdue University and an MBA from ISB, Hyderabad. In a different life, for his MS thesis, he invented a nanotechnology-based sensor for healthcare applications and authored papers in international journals. Venu is a sports enthusiast and recipient of the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh Award. Venu was part of a 10-member team on a trekking expedition to Mt. Everest, and scaled 19100 feet. Venu also loves adventure sports like bungee-jumping and para-sailing, and has played competitive cricket now for more than a decade, representing his school and college in the sport.
Dr. BALAJI RAMAN
Chief statistician Dr. Balaji Raman has a doctoral degree in Statistics from University of Connecticut, USA and wide experience across industry, academics and consulting. Dr. Balaji Raman has developed advanced statistical applications in the fields of financial markets, banking & sports science. He was also a faculty at Yale University, USA and taught courses in statistics and probability.
